Beginners Lino Printing - 30th August
Beginner's Lino Printing Workshop
Sunday 30th August | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
📍 Pittywitty Studio
Discover the timeless art of lino printing in this relaxed and beginner-friendly workshop at Pittywitty Studio.
Lino printing is a traditional printmaking technique where a design is carved into a soft lino block using specialist carving tools. Once carved, the block is rolled with ink and pressed onto paper to create beautiful, repeatable prints. The areas you carve away remain blank, while the raised surface transfers the ink, creating striking contrasts and unique handmade artwork.
During this workshop, you'll learn the fundamentals of lino printing from start to finish. We'll guide you through creating a simple design, transferring it onto your lino block, safely using carving tools, and exploring printing techniques to achieve crisp, professional-looking results.
As you carve and print, you'll discover the satisfying process of watching your design come to life with every impression. Experiment with different colour combinations, print layouts and textures while developing a deeper appreciation for this traditional art form.
Whether you're completely new to printmaking or looking to explore a new creative hobby, this workshop is designed to be welcoming, supportive and enjoyable for all skill levels.
Set amongst the peaceful surrounds of Pittywitty Studio, this creative afternoon is the perfect excuse to slow down, connect with your creativity and enjoy a few hours away from the everyday.
